About the author


Victor M. Becerra has been an academic at the School of Systems Engineering, University of Reading, United Kingdom, since 2000, where he is currently a Reader. He obtained his PhD in optimal
control from City University, London. in 1994. He has published over 100 research papers and one book.  His research interests include optimal control, control systems, robotics, system identification, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence. He has been involved, both as a principal investigator, and as a co-investigator, in research grants with a total value over £2.1m. His research has been funded by the EPSRC, the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Programme, the EC, the European Space Agency, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and various UK industries.  He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Senior Member of the AIAA, a member of the IET and a Chartered Engineer in the UK. He is a member of the IFAC Technical Committees on "Optimal Control" and "Adaptive and Learning Systems". 
He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control.
